Advice Assistant

£14,976.78 (full time equivalent £26,209.37)
20 hours per week
Due to growing demand on our service, we’re looking to recruit an Advice Assistant to support our team of professional Advisers. In this role, you’ll provide essential support to the students and the advisers, confirming appointments and signposting to ARU and Union services.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Triaging enquiries, including understanding when and where to signpost to services, provide hold information or offer an appointment when required.
- Providing initial guidance and information to students and record each case on the case management system as needed
- Providing initial signposting information and guidance to students where the service cannot support the student.
- Interpreting and applying the University's key regulations, policies, procedures and Codes of Practice at a level appropriate to the role.
- Ensuring that procedures for confidentiality and security of personal information are maintained to protect client data.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience communicating information or advice effectively in a similar role such as a reception environment or contact centre.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- A calm and professional approach when working under pressure.
- Able to work independently and use own initiative.
- A sensitive and empathetic approach to distressing situations.
- Great communication skills
